Our glass manufacturing plant near Gawler, South Australia is a significant user of recycled glass, called cullet, in Australia. Sustainability is our promise to the future. The Role:
Reporting directly to the Cullet Plant Manager, the Cullet Plant Operator will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Cullet Plant, including machine operation and safe and efficient use of front-end loader and forklift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Cullet Plant Machinery
- Working in a team across multiple tasks
- Training and development in use of equipment across multiple areas
- Supervise small groups of contractors in a stand in situation.
- Receipt and management of raw materials
- Prepare finished product ready for transport
- Using front end loader / forklift / truck to manage raw materials
- Perform Routine Maintenance on machinery
- Attend breakdowns
- Record Keeping and Data Entry
- Flexibility across day / afternoon shift
About You:
Whilst a high-risk forklift licence is required for this role, Orora are willing to work with the right candidate to help them attain a front end loader ticket.
With strong mechanical aptitude, and flexibility to be trained in multiple tasks including machine operation and use of mobile plant, the successful candidates will have a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in to help the team achieve goals.
Successful Candidates:
- Are flexible to work overtime or afternoon shift when required.
- Hold a current High Risk Forklift Licence
- Preferably hold a Front-End Loader ticket, but training can be offered to the right candidate
- Have strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Possess sound communication and team focus
- Have a passion for safety and understanding of HSE practices
- Take the initiative and be motivated to achieve goals
- Are able to prioritise tasks and manage their time throughout the day
- Have a positive and proactive approach to work tasks
- Proven ability to be able to work autonomously, in a safe and efficient manner
