About the Opportunity
Our City Operations team is looking for a new team member to join as a General Labourer (Plant Operator).
- As part of the team, some of the day-to-day things you will see yourself carrying out may include:
- Operating plant and machinery such as an MR Truck and Skid Steers.
- Carrying out labouring duties that deliver civil construction and maintenance projects like roads, stormwater and footpath infrastructure.
- Assisting with basic measurements and calculations related to daily operations and materials ordering.

We are looking for an individual who is after a role they can grow in (or looking for a stable career) and someone who is after an opportunity to be a part of the community they live in.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Working knowledge of the safe operation of specialised machinery used in the construction and maintenance industry.
- Practical knowledge of the fundamental nature of construction practices, products and techniques employed in the construction and maintenance of civil / municipal infrastructure including experience with asphalt.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to effectively liaise and engage with members of the public and community groups.
- A Certificate III in Civil Construction or demonstrated experience within the civil construction and maintenance industry
- The following qualifications:
- MR Truck Licence
- Work Zone Traffic Management Licence
- White Card
- Skid Steer
- Excavator/loader
- A team player but also self-motivated and happy to work independently.

Please be advised this is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a starting salary at the CSE Grade 4 Classification commencing at $68,135 + 11% superannuation. Please note there will be a 3% salary increase commencing the first full pay period of July 2024 to commence at $70,179 + 11.5% super.
