About Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Principal Catchment, Land & Heritage, you will lead the development of Cultural Heritage strategies, plans, compliance systems and promote awareness of Cultural Heritage obligations across the business ensuring positive, sustainable and balanced Cultural Heritage practices are implemented.
This role is responsible for:
- Leading the development of strategies, frameworks and plans to guide the delivery of Cultural Heritage products and services.
- Overseeing and lead the development and implementation of Cultural Heritage compliance systems across Seqwater.
- Partnering with Seqwater staff, to provide expert technical advice to Seqwater personnel on compliance matters relative to the capital and operational program activities which may impact upon Indigenous and non-Indigenous Cultural Heritage.
- Leading discussions and negotiations with Traditional Owner groups and statutory authorities (State and Commonwealth) to establish working initiatives and agreements for compliance purposes.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Degree in archaeology, heritage management, heritage conservation, anthropology, or equivalent.
- Significant demonstrated professional experience in a directly relevant position.
- High level of understanding and working knowledge of applicable legislation and heritage practice.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical advice in relation to non-Indigenous and Indigenous Cultural Heritage management.
- Unrestricted 'Class C' driver's licence (highly desirable)
