The Cupcake Lady is a family owned business and has been providing deliciousness to the people of Adelaide for more than 12 years. Our business has been built through a strong online presence where we initially specialised in high volume corporate orders and private celebrations. In 2020 we started trailing retail locations, and after great success we have now incorporated a full time travelling pop-up store into our business to spread the offering of our delicious product across Adelaide. We are now excited to be expanding our retail offering even further with some exciting new projects and are needing star bakers and decorators to join our team to increase our production.
Qualifications & experience
- A serious passion for cake/cupcake decorating and previous professional decorating experience is a must. (Successful applicants will be invited to complete a paid trial prior to employment offer)
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality and consistency
- Available 7 days a week between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm (scheduling subject to order requirements)
- Ability to maintain a high level of motivation and initiative whilst working without supervision
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Thrives under pressure with the ability to work in a high paced environment. Multitasking in order to meet strict timelines is a must.
- Sound knowledge and respect of all aspects of food safety and hygiene
Tasks & responsibilities
- Baking Cupcakes - Full preparation and baking of our cupcake collection using our recipes and method as well as helping to develop new products.
- Decorating Cupcakes - Completing a high standard of consistent buttercream piping decoration in line with our set designs and varied custom requests.
- Component Preparation - Maintaining a high standard of advanced preparation for all components required to complete our cupcake decorations.
- Stock Level / Ingredient Management - Monitoring bakery resources to ensure adequate supplies are available to complete daily orders.
- Cleaning - Maintaining a high standard of food safety through regular sanitisation of equipment and preparation surfaces with strict daily end of day procedures.
- Order Management - Pack and prepare orders for smooth consistent customer service. Closely monitor confirmed orders to maintain good foresight of all requirements of upcoming orders.
