Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join St John Ambulance ACT as a Customer Care Service Officer.

St John Ambulance ACT is a volunteer based; self-funded not-for-profit organisation run entirely for the well-being of the Canberra community. As a registered charity we are reliant on the proceeds from commercial ventures to fund our humanitarian services. Helping tens of thousands of people across the Territory each year through the delivery of first aid at events staffed by teams of volunteers, to delivering first aid training and products to our community. Revenue generated is invested in the community through community programs.

About the Role:

As a Customer Care Service Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional customer service experiences for our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include handling enquiries, booking courses, and engaging in cold calling activities to promote our services. This role demands strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outbound cold calls to generate leads and promote St John Ambulance training courses, products and services.
  • Actively contribute to the achievement of sales targets and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate training courses based on their needs and requirements.
  • Manage course bookings, rescheduling, and cancellations efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions using our CRM System and ensuring compliance as an RTO.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure seamless customer service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a call centre or similar environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanour.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and effectively address customer needs.
  • Proficiency in using LMS software and other relevant computer applications or the ability to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
