We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Care Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing our Customer’s Experience providing world class service to our customers, to achieve greater loyalty. Collaborate with all centre and Retail business teams to create a high performing team environment.
A busy and varied customer facing role within our Townsville Shopping Centre, based at our concierge desk, you will be providing a high level of customer service to customers as well as support to the centre management team as needed.
This is a casual role, working up to 15 hours with potential for additional hours that may be available for ad hoc shifts for staff coverage, school holidays and Christmas.

About the role
- Provide excellent customer service with accurate and timely information regarding the centre and their queries
- Interaction with customers, retailers and centre contractors such as cleaning and security staff via phone, email or in-person
- Provide telephone answering service for Townsville Shopping Centre
- Handling customer enquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner, and where applicable direct to the relevant Centre Management staff
- Promotion and sales of Townsville Shopping Centre Gift Cards, management of this system and daily reconciliation of accounts
- Database Management
- Assist Marketing Department with ad hoc duties
- Contribute to regular centre management and Customer Care team meetings, and also other forms of team communications
- Cleaning and maintenance of the mobility equipment
- Identify opportunities to improve customer service and make recommendations to management
About you
- Excellent communicator, verbal and written
- Customer service skills or relevant training in a related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Handling difficult people (customer / retailers / staff)
- Self-motivated, positive and outgoing personality
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
Based at our Townsville Shopping Centre this casual role will be on a rotating roster which will include weekdays, weekends and Thursday evenings.
