Located in Laverton NrthWe are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to oversee our procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of manufacturing operations and machinery, along with exceptional negotiation skills and a proven track record of cost-effective purchasing.Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and reduce costs.
Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and services.
Collaborate with internal teams, including production, engineering, and finance, to understand project requirements and forecast procurement needs.
Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and technologies that can enhance our manufacturing capabilities.
Analyze purchasing data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field (desirable)
Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar procurement role within the manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and requirements.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is a plus.Benefits:
