Our Field Service teams are nbn’s professional, trusted, and essential customer facing workforce. They’re the friendly faces, confident voices and skilled hands working on our network and in communities every day. Our Trainee Customer Field Technicians are an integral part of these teams, and learn, develop, and build skills as they turn their passion into practice every day. A bit about your role

As a Customer Field Technician, located in Wollongong will play a vital role working on Customer Service field tasks across potentially all nbn technologies. This is an autonomous role where you will be responsible for installation, repair and maintenance of nbn products and services. You’ll have the opportunity to work in multiple environments both internal and external but predominantly inside the customer’s premises.

Your typical day could include any or all of the below functions while delivering exceptional customer service within your role:

  • Cabling installation (copper and fibre) including jointing, jumpering and splicing
  • Customer premises installation of nbn Customer Premises Equipment (CPE)
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of nbn cabling networks and nbn CPE
  • These roles work between the hours of 7am to 7pm based on business needs and we encourage a flexible working environment.

A bit about you

We’re seeking experienced candidates, ideally from a telecommunications technical background with experience in any of these technologies: FTTC, FTTP, FTTN or HFC. 

A large part of this role is working in customer’s premises, so it will also be important you have exceptional customer service skills and can display honesty and integrity while being self-managed and motivated.

We will be looking for:

  • Current & clean Driver’s Licence
  • Strong and personable communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A focus on delivering customer and service excellence
