About the Opportunities:
An opportunity has become available to join the Library and Family Services team as Customer Service Assistant in a permanent capacity. This role is part-time ~ 40 hours per fortnight. Hours of work are 4 hours per day usually between the hours of 9am and 1pm, Monday to Friday, plus weekend shifts.
City of Darwin have four (4) libraries: Darwin City (Civic Centre), Nightcliff, Karama, and Casuarina. Our libraries opening hours are Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings with Casuarina Library also open on a Sunday afternoon. The successful applicants must be flexible and adaptable to working in various work locations throughout the municipality as needed to perform the role effectively, including at multiple library locations, and work weekends.
What do we ask you to do?
- Ensure library users are provided with a positive, proactive and responsive Customer Service experience by:
- Engaging, supporting, and connecting library users with services, activities and resources including e-resources.
- Assisting with general enquiries and the use of various IT resources and self-service technologies.
- Explain procedures and regulations to library users.
- Maintain the order of library collections through shelving, sorting and shelf reading.

What do we need you to have?
- A current NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
- Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence
- 1 Year Customer Service Experience

The permanent Customer Service Assistant position has a base salary of pro-rated $65,106 per annum + superannuation. We also offer generous benefits such as 6 weeks annual leave and 15 personal/carer days.
