Customer Service Officer/ Assistant (Freight Forwarding)

About this opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, customer-centric team player to join our team in Sydney on a Permanent, Full-Time basis.

• Build strong and lasting relationships with customers and provide second-to-none Customer Service.
• To perform Data Entry, Job Creation, Billing, General administration or any Ad hoc duties/tasks assigned
• Good Knowledge of coordinating with external Warehouses. 
• Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure that operational tasks are met:
• Ensure consistent Customer satisfaction by providing effective and efficient responses to customer inquiries, addressing issues, and resolving concerns promptly.
• Take full responsibility and end-to-end ownership of customer Logistics and customer issues.
• Ability to review purchase orders and shipment contents before releasing them from our contracted facility.
• Efficiently handle bookings, documentation, customs reporting, and job invoicing
• Work closely with internal teams to optimize operations. 
• Excellent multitasking skills within their workspace as well as computer savvy

About you

Our ideal candidate will embody our shared values of innovation and creating value for customers, have exposure to the freight industry as well as a passion and willingness to further develop their skill set under the guidance of the OOCL Logistics team.

• At least 2 years of Freight forwarding experience and 1 year of Customer Service experience in Shipping or logistics.
• An ability to work autonomously and to multi-task.
• Understand the importance of working in a team environment and value your contribution to the team.
• An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• General Shipping and Logistics Knowledge
• The successful candidate will also display excellent communication skills, the ability to converse with people of all levels and be well organized, efficient, and effective.
• Experience working for a freight forwarder essential
• Experience working in a customer-focused environment preferred
• Experience with data management and logistics operating systems 
• Must have full working rights in Australia.
