About the Role
This position of Customer Service Officer/Leather goods maker is a busy and diverse role. You will be extremely hands on and have a “can do attitude. You will be responsible for processing online orders, answering telephone enquires, the making of a range of leather goods including aprons and bags ensuring production supply needs are met in a timely manner. You will be required to assist in product development, designing and sampling. To be successful you will need to have previous experience in the use of various industrial machines, and have good communication skills. Training will be provided in other areas of production as required.
Along with these requirements, the role will also include but not be limited to:
Experience:
- Required to work both within a team or individually to meet production targets.
- Required to have experience in the use of industrial sewing machines.
- Required to have strong computer skills.
- Required to apply safe work practices.
- Required to apply quality control practices.
Desirable Skills (not essential)
- Experience in operating a variety of industrial sewing machines and cutting by hand and press. e.g. Plain & Post Machines, Overlocker, Cutting press, etc .
- Experience in working with leather, synthetics, textiles.
- Experience with Laser Engraving.
- Knowledge of garment and bag construction.
- Understanding and developing patterns and assembly processes.
- Interest in learning new skills and processes.
