About your new role:

Energy Queensland currently has multiple permanent opportunities for both Customer Project Technical Officer’s and Customer Technical Assessment Officer's to join a dedicated team who provide information and advice to customers on all aspects of electricity supply, in particular new connections and extensions. These positions can be located at any major Energy Queensland location including Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Toowoomba or Townsville. As the Customer Project Technical Officer you will investigate customer enquiries and liaise with relevant officers and work groups to ensure a high level of customer service. You will also be responsible for the negotiation of complex supply arrangements, detailed design parameters and preparation of connection contracts. Additionally you will identify technical requirements and develop scope documents for network extensions/modifications. 

Alternatively as the Customer Technical Assessment Officer you will be responsible for advising customers of approximate costs associated with installing and relocating assets, processing application forms, and preparing Network Connection Contracts for projects where supply is deemed available. Additionally, you will investigate customer enquiries, negotiate initial supply arrangements, and liaise with relevant officers and work groups to ensure a high level of customer service. 

The remuneration for your new positions start from $116,202 - $137,230 + 12.75% Super for 9-day fortnight and $134,213 - $155,065 + 12.75% super for 10-day fortnight
if you have met the essential qualification.

About you:

To be successful for either position you will be experienced in general connection processes including Conditions of Supply and assessment of Maximum Demand. Additionally, you will possess:

Essential:

  • Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Desirable:

  • Queensland Electrical Licence as Electrical Fitter / Mechanic or Electrical Linesperson/ Jointer.
  • Certificate IV in Power Systems Design or equivalent.
  • Technical understanding of activities of an electricity distribution authority including design, construction, maintenance, and operation of underground and overhead mains and associated equipment.
  • Excellent ability in customer negotiations, formal and informal communication skills, and the ability to foster good relationships with our internal and external stakeholders to deliver efficient, cost-effective customer projects.
  • Ability to understand, read and translate maps/drawings and survey plans.  
  • Knowledge of relevant sections of the Electricity Act and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and other relevant statutory acts and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications and manage competing project milestones to meet business and project targets.
