Client is public sector authority based in Brisbane's southern suburbs. They are looking to engage a Technical Officer to help with the planned maintenance program for next financial year.
Your new role
The role is within the civil engineering / asset management / maintenance team at council. It plays a crucial role in the physical inspection of 1000kms of footpaths and bikeways to assess and prioritise maintenance works on the owned network.
The role involves travelling along the pathways capturing the data with an AI/ML device and then storing and backing the data on tablet device and providing some basic reporting and analysis of the data to the planning team.
What you'll need to succeed
Candidates would have some experience of the civil (roads, footpaths / drainage / bikeways) industry maybe as junior engineer or trades team leader and have some knowledge around data capture and storage using tablet systems. Candidates must be self-motivated to work on own to a prearranged schedule and have solid communication skills to engage with members of public if required and good written skills to provide basic analysis and reporting documents.
Candidates need construction white card, class C licence and ideally have Working in Proximity to Traffic – Awareness Part 1 and 2 ticket or an ability to get it quickly
