The opportunity:
Our IT Team at EBOS Group have an awesome great opportunity for a Cyber Defence Engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join the team. In this role you will play a pivotal role in defending our organization's digital assets.
This is an exceptional opportunity for those passionate about cybersecurity to contribute to a large-scale operation, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of critical data across the EBOS Group.
Training and mentorship provided across all aspects of the EBOS Group security fabric.
What you will do:
  • Use our Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools to monitor systems for potential security breaches;
  • Work closely with experienced team members to contribute to cybersecurity strategies;
  • Gain experience using our vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools;
  • Actively identify potential system and network weaknesses;
  • Utilise our Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) for alert monitoring and generalised SOC activities;
  • Engage in continuous learning against evolving threats;
  • Provide assistance during incident response activities;
  • Manage Identity Management Tools and understand their role in security posture enhancement.
What we are looking for
  • At least 3 years' experience in a cyber security role;
  • A foundational understanding of cyber security principles and best practices;
  • Basic familiarity with security frameworks, standards, and guidelines;
  • Basic knowledge of network architectures and cybersecurity tools;
  • A degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field would be advantageous but not mandatory;
  • Auxiliary training such as CompTIA Security+/Analyst, HackTheBox, Mitre-Engenuity, ISACA Cybersecurity Fundamentals highly regarded;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a diverse team;
  • Eagerness to learn and stay updated with the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape and learn from an experienced team.
