We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Digital Services and Technology. The role will support the Information Security team in the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of key security solutions.

The Opportunity

As the Cyber Security Analyst you will assist in identifying and defending Hunter Water against cyber risks through proactive investigation and triage of cyber related events.

What you'll do:

• Management and monitoring of the SIEM solution
• Investigation of abnormal network, user, and device behaviour
• Incident escalation and triaging processes
• Email and web quarantine processes
• Assist in Maintaining Endpoint security solutions
• Assist with vulnerability management platform and processes
• Assist with prioritisation of patching activities.
• Maintaining documentation and knowledge base for security solutions
• Assist with technology upgrades and improvements to security solutions.
• Identifying opportunities for improvements in processes and technology
• Actively participate in ISMS risk assessments and audits
• Maintaining a working knowledge of industry best practices and trends
• Continue to have an up to date and relevant understanding of developments in Cyber security standards and threats.

What you'll need to be successful:

Essential Criteria:

• Security industry qualification or working towards (for example CISSP, Microsoft 365 Security Administrator)
• Vender qualifications such as Microsoft, Cisco (for example MCSIE, CCNA certification)
• Previous experience managing Cyber Security solutions
• Previous experience with log management and correlation
• Previous experience with Active Directory and identity providers
• Experience in incident management and escalation processes.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Proven ability working in a team environment.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience in Network security and technologies
• Previous experience with Linux environments
• Previous experience with government legislation and requirements
• Previous experience with cloud-based technology and infrastructure
