We are seeking a talented Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing Cyber Security Team. You'll play a vital role in safeguarding Council's data and systems by working alongside our Cyber Security Advisor.
Here's what you'll do in the next two years:
Collaborate on implementing and executing our comprehensive Cyber Security Action Plan.
Analyse and improve security policies to ensure the highest level of protection.
Assist in undertaking Cyber Security risk assessments on vendors and solutions.
Educate staff and cultivate a culture of cybersecurity awareness and responsibility across Council.

Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Cybersecurity related certification (e.g., GCIH, CISSP).
Proficiency in security tools and technologies (SIEM, firewalls, antivirus).
Strong understanding of Cyber Security risk assessment and controls for new IT and OT systems.
Understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards and frameworks (e.g., Essential 8, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001, NIST).
Experience analysing security data and identifying vulnerabilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to delivery key messaging to non-technical audience.
Desirable:
Previous experience in implementing and managing security controls, including experience with advanced tools and techniques.
In-depth knowledge of network security infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches) is beneficial.
To meet Council’s WHS requirements and in accordance with Council’s Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
