The Role:
This role will see you helping the organisation protect their various IT systems from cyber threats in line with their Cyber Security strategy. Your role will focus on both those day to day activities expected in cyber position’s along with taking a proactive interest in identifying improvements in the cyber space as the area evolves over time. You will be working closely with your team members to ensure all possible precautions are taken to stop the harm potentially resulting from cyber threats.
The core aspects of the role include:
- Incident response for any cyber threats be they internal or external
- Continued vulnerability assessments and reporting to identify any risks with remediation
- Management of the various security platforms and tools used to protect the systems and data of the organisation
- Policy development and the documentation of security procedures and risk assessments
- A focus on continued improvement of security whether it be additional tools, risk identification or policy improvements etc.
You’ve been working in the Cyber Security space for a number of years, have a mature approach, and know that security is far more than just the network layer. You have a solid background in traditional infrastructure as well as a good understanding of cloud technologies which helps you understand how threats can quickly develop. Over the years you have built a strong knowledge of a range of technologies across firewalls, the Microsoft range of security tools and are able to perform cyber risk assessments and any remediation that is identified from it. You enjoy working in a team of like minded individuals and proactively look for ways to improve and automate your environment where possible to further mitigate risk to the business.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience working in an enterprise environment providing Cyber Security services
- Ability to quickly identify any issues, resolve them using proven security frameworks or escalate them if required for resolution
- Expert knowledge in intrusion prevention, OS hardening, firewall management and event monitoring
- Strong experience using the Microsoft stack of security tools including Sentinel, Defender, Azure AD etc.
- Ability to run cyber risk assessments, report on them and implement any remediation identified
