Job description

Transgrid operates and manages the major high voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, connecting generators, distributors and major end users.

Our core role is to connect electricity consumers to a safe, secure and reliable network through efficient maintenance, proficient operation of assets and prudent investment. Our network is the backbone of the NEM, enabling energy trading between Australia's three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

In your new role, you will play a crucial part in coordinating tasks to track and minimise Cyber Security risks. You will be responsible for maintaining stakeholders and ensuring security processes and controls are effective. This requires a desire to constantly learn about operational security risk and be effective in a complex environment.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Coordinating security meetings
  • Managing security operations enquiries and approval queues
  • Maintaining a register of technical risks and agreed treatment plans
  • Develop and work on the application of security controls

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to analyse security risks and track the tasks to address risks to completion. They should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate proficiency in responding to technical and business-facing stakeholders.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent industry relevant experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to explain security concepts to system users and stakeholders.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years in a similar role, preferably in the Power or an OT related environment or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to analyse security risks and provide timely and effective response.
  • Demonstrated ability in the production of documentation using accepted standards and notations.
  • Participate in a program of continuous Improvement to take on, and be innovative in, the resolving of raised issues and treatment of root causes.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments.
  • Understanding of the principles underlying the operation of an ISMS and good knowledge of ISO27000 practices and controls.
  • Understanding of risk management practices with the ability to participate in risk assessments and maintain risk registers.
