About the Role
Cyber Security NSW is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join the Operational Advisory function within the Uplift & Advisory team. This is a key leadership role within a growing team and will contribute to the success of Cyber Security NSW. The responsibilities of this role will include projects, reviews, analysis, reporting, assurance and governance to encourage the uplift in Cyber Security maturity across NSW Government.
Specific accountabilities will include:
- Develop and lead projects with an aim to ensure continuous improvement of NSW Government's Cyber Security posture.
- Develop and improve stakeholder relations across government by engaging with clusters, agencies, and councils.
- Perform security reviews, risk assessments, and develop best practice to aid NSW Government agencies.
- Analyse industry products and offerings to align with specified requirements.
- Identify stakeholder requirements, prioritise workload and manage team portfolios.
- Provide guidance and assistance to analysts within the team.
- Continuously improve processes to increase team efficiency.
- Participate in assurance reviews of NSW government ICT projects.
- Participate in team other tasks and projects where required.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Have proven experience and qualifications in Cyber Security.
- Have experience managing the development and workload of junior staff members.
- Have advanced analytical and investigative skills.
- Have strong communications skills both verbal and written.
- Be able to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Be able to proactively manage your own workload and tasks.
Essential Criteria : You should be an Australian Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance and willingness to undergo a police check

Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function located within Digital.NSW in the Department of Customer Service. We are responsible for ensuring a cyber safe NSW. The protection of our systems and digital information is important because of the many essential services NSW Government provides including health, emergency services, and transport. Furthermore, the exciting digital transformation being undertaken across NSW Government requires similarly enhanced cyber capabilities.
At the centre of this exciting and growing cyber capability, Cyber Security NSW is working across NSW Government to:
- Create a whole-of-government integrated approach to managing cyber risk and responding to Cyber Security threats.
- Increase cyber skills and awareness.
- Understand the risks from cyber threats to our digital information and systems.
- Set Cyber Security standards.
- Ensure we know how to respond if a damaging cyber incident occurs.
