The Technology Security team plays a pivotal role in the department's Cyber security daily operations, ensuring the creation and maintenance of a secure cyber environment.
As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will deliver positive cybersecurity outcomes that strengthen the organisations' Cyber Security posture.
You will be responsible for the design, building, implementation and operations of Cyber Security Operations including threat management and response, vulnerability management, identity and access management.
You will work to understand the security requirements and identify how the cybersecurity technologies can be designed to enable secure and compliant solutions.
Duties include:
• Design, implement, and manage Cyber Security solutions outlined in the Strategic Technology Roadmap to progressively strengthen our Cyber Security posture.
• Ensure the accuracy and implementation of safety and security policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

- Ensure governance and compliance through application of the PSPF, ISM, and Essential 8, through collaboration with ACSC, DTA, ANAO
- Coordinate operations to monitor security for systems, vulnerability management, perimeter services and event logging.
• Ensure the accuracy and implementation of safety and security policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

• Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology or relevant industry certifications/experience
(CISM, CISSP, CISA)
• 4+ years' experience in the field of cybersecurity
• Experience securing a range of enterprise-grade technologies, including cloud solutions.
