Your new company 
Hays Technology is supporting a large Brisbane-based client to secure a Cyber Security Engineer (SIEM) on an initial 6-month contract with a very good scope for extension. 
Your new role 
As a Security Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing the organisations security posture. You’ll be responsible for deploying, configuring, and managing their Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool, Sentinel. Your expertise will drive the creation of alarms, dashboards, and automated responses to security threats. 

• Configure and maintain log sources across diverse security and IT systems
• Efficiently parse and extract relevant security events using specialised toolsets
• Automated Incident Response: Develop and implement SOAR workflows to automate incident response tasks and investigate security alerts, conduct root cause analysis, and remediate threats.

What you'll need to succeed 

Experience with MS Sentinel and/or ELK.

Familiarity with AWS, Azure, SAAS logging, and cloud technologies.

Knowledge of EDR technologies.

Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

API integration and automation skills.

Exposure to process automation and at least one primary SOAR tool.
