The role

 

This exciting new role will be responsible for supporting the Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance uplift across South East Water. This includes working with technology and business units to identify, capture and assess Cyber Security risks, report on the risk trends, and with steer and input from the Cyber leadership team, plan and lead on control assurance activities.

 

Some of the key accountabilities of the role will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Updating and maintaining cybersecurity security policies, standards and processes.
  • Planning and assessing compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Regularly reviewing reports and engagement with contributors and action/risk owners to update logs, reports, papers and files.
  • Identifying areas of non-compliance and managing the recommended corrective actions as per the direction of Cyber leadership,
  • Ensuring the maintenance of security controls and implementing new or revised controls.
  • Supporting and implementing risk management strategies and controls to minimise exposure to threats.
  • Assisting in the implementation of governance frameworks and processes, as well as maintaining records and documentation related to governance activities.
  • Preparing reports on compliance status, audit findings and risk assessments for management and key stakeholders.

 

Who are you?

 

In order to be considered for this role, applicants will require the following key skills, knowledge and experience:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in creating a structured system, organising and scheduling deliverables, communicating with a range of stakeholders effectively and confidently.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working to coordinate government and legal submissions
  • An ability to attend meetings and prioritise actions in a pressured environment
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a transformative team and the agility to pivot and meet urgent emerging priorities
  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity frameworks and government environments - Regulated body/government experience.
  • Strong project administration skills in order to update reports and risk registers.
  • Experience creating and owning a hub of well organised, maintained and structured information.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with good influencing skills.


South East Water operates in a hybrid environment.  This role is required to work on site 2-3 days per week.
