As the Cyber Security Lead, you will be responsible for leading our client's cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring the protection of critical systems, data, and infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities. You will oversee the implementation of security measures, manage security tools and technologies, and provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will play a key role in stakeholder management, security reporting, incident response, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Expertly manage and configure various firewalls to safeguard our network and systems.
Utilise and manage security tools such as Splunk, and Defender for vulnerability assessment, threat detection, and incident response.
Demonstrate expertise in compliance frameworks such as Essential Eight, SACSF, and ISO27001 to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
Conduct in-depth investigations into vulnerability scan status and findings, providing actionable insights and recommendations for remediation.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide expert consultation and guidance on vulnerability remediation efforts.
Employ strong stakeholder management skills to communicate security risks, initiatives, and progress to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Proactively monitor security alerts, incidents, and requests, taking swift action to mitigate threats and minimise impact.
Update and create operational procedures and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance in alignment with evolving security requirements and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in cybersecurity roles with a focus on managing firewalls, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.
Extensive experience working with and managing security tools such as Splunk, and Defender.
In-depth understanding of compliance frameworks and standards, including Essential Eight, SACSF, and ISO27001.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and analyse complex security issues.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience in presenting security findings and reports to senior management.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Note: Onsite role, with work from home flexibility, candidates should be SA based or will to relocate.
