About the role:
We have an exciting new role available at MF&A. We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Professional to fill a newly created position of Cyber Security Practice Lead. This role will lead, support and grow our current teams and client base. The Cyber Security Practice Lead will have technical capabilities to lead and delivery projects in the Cyber Security consulting team and will support ongoing business development and capability uplift.
There are three main parts of the Cyber Security Practice Lead role: Strategy and Leadership, Cyber Security Delivery, and Business Development / Growth Enablement. A breakdown of each of these can be found below:
About you:
Are you the experienced Cyber Security Professional we need to fill a newly created position of Cyber Security Practice Lead for Asia Pacific region (APAC). Please see below for the essential and desired criteria for this position.
Essential Criteria:

  • Business development and growth across multiple clients. This includes a proven track record of generating profitable new business. It is expected that you have been personally accountable for this in a previous role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a high performing multi-disciplinary Cyber Security team of 15+ people in various geographic locations.
  • 10+ years career experience with practical experience in delivering Cyber Security outcomes across a number of projects.
  • Demonstrated commitment to hiring, supporting and leading diverse teams.
  • To work with some of our Australian Federal Government clients, you must be an Australian citizen and hold an AGSVA security clearance (minimum NV1) and be based in Canberra (ACT).
Desired Criteria:
  • Demonstrated experience delivering in two or more Cyber Security disciplines (e.g. GRC, architecture, penetration testing, SOC/SIEM, engineering, forensics, etc.)
  • Relevant industry certifications and awards.
  • International experience running Cyber Security capability outside of Australia.
Strategy and Leadership:
  • Shape future strategy and direction for internal Cyber Security capabilities.
  • Help employees and clients reach their Cyber Security goals.
  • Work with the broader company leadership team to ensure the company's privacy, security, compliance and financial objectives are met.
  • Lead training initiatives and internal support for staff development.
  • Support the expansion of Cyber Security capability across the APAC region, including active involvement in hiring new diverse talent.
  • Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion and supporting a safe and inclusive work environment for all team members.
Cyber Security Delivery:
  • Undertake part time delivery in one or more Cyber Security discipline (e.g. GRC, architecture, penetration testing, SOC/SIEM, engineering, forensics, etc.)
  • Foster and maintain excellent customer relationships and build trust with clients.
  • Lead teams to deliver outcomes on scope, on time, on budget and to high standards.
  • Manage and plan staff resource availability to ensure projects and work packages are delivered in a timely manner to the client.
  • Use your deep understanding of Cyber Security standards and frameworks for Australian Federal Government and international standards (e.g. ISM, PSPF, Essential 8, NIST, ISO 27001/27002, etc.) to support clients to achieve their outcomes.
  • Help a variety of client stakeholder understand complex ideas in both written and verbal briefings.
  • Maintain expert understanding of industry trends, best practice, and market offerings relevant for Cyber Security.
Business Development / Growth Enablement:
  • Work with internal stakeholders to hone the plan to grow business within existing customers as well as targeting new customers.
  • Proactively source new opportunities through consistent engagement, follow-up, and outreach.
  • Deliver revenue growth across client base.
  • Lead the bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification to proposal submission, ensuring compliance, quality and success.
