Cyber Security Specialist

About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Specialist for one of our top clients in Sydney. As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of their systems and data. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and responding to cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular security assessments and risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
• Develop and implement robust security measures, policies, and procedures to safeguard systems and data.
• Monitor network traffic and security logs to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
• Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses in our infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Cyber Security trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on Cyber Security best practices.

 Your skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven work experience as a Cyber Security Specialist or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and penetration testing.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with the ability to effectively translate technical findings for non technical teams.
