About the role:
The Daily Operational Adviser is responsible for developing and coordinating effective operational plans for the New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) units, focusing on daily maintenance, testing, commissioning, and operational needs. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that these requirements are met efficiently, without compromising customer service on the wider network.
Responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers, to ensure efficient train movements for testing, maintenance, and utilisation.
- Develop detailed operational plans for NGR requirements within South East Queensland, ensuring compliance with the NGR Project Deed and Transport Service Contract (TSC) requirements.
- Provide support and coordination for NGR train scheduling and the preparation of train notices for testing, commissioning, and other business needs.
- Consult and negotiate with Queensland Rail business groups and external parties (including TMR and ProjectCo) to create mutually agreeable train plans.
- Assist the NGR Operations Manager in achieving a safe, utilised, presentable, available, and reliable NGR Fleet.
- Role includes a standard morning and afternoon roster with hours spread between 0600-1830, including rostered rotation of every second Sunday.
About you:
- Excellent communication skills – with ability to establish and develop working relationships with both internal and external stakeholder
- High level of interpersonal, written and oral communication and strong MS office skills
- Proven experience in planning and coordinating
- Demonstrated experience with working towards deadlines - aligning tasks to business requirements
- Ability to be agile and highly adaptable to changing plans/targets
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
