About the Role
As a Data Science Analyst at elementco.lab, you'll play a pivotal role in collaborating with our lead to provide cutting-edge solutions and insights. Your expertise in data science tools and techniques will drive the creation of statistically sound models, empowering our team and clients alike with actionable intelligence.
The day to day function of this role will also be required to maintain and optimise existing data infrastructure, ensuring data quality and reliability. Predominately working collaboratively with our internal team members and supporting client proposals. These efforts will support the delivery of meaningful insights informed by global trends and community specific needs creating meaningful and impactful design solutions.
This role is based in our Perth CBD Office. We do offer hybrid and flexible working arrangements so we will also consider both full time and flexible working arrangement applications. Please confirm if you are seeking full time or flexible employment in your cover letter.
Key requirements include:
- Utilise SQL to extract, manipulate and analyse data to provide insights and create visualisations.
- Conducts analysis/modelling to support the development of solutions to business problems.
- Designing and implementing data solutions, particularly in power platform (power BI, Dax, Power Apps, Power Automate and Data verse).
- Development of reports, dashboards in Power BI to provide actionable insights into business performance metrics.
- Communicating with key stakeholders how data is turned into information, predictive modelling and knowledge that supports and enables key business
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity and security across all platforms and systems.
- Utilise spatial GIS tools to analyse geographic data and provide insights to support decision- making processes and solve business needs.
- Design and create reports, graphs and charts using power BI and Excel to present data findings effectively.
- Utilise Excel, pivot tables and VBA to manipulate and analyse large data sets.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to data standards, processes and procedures.
- Train and support users on data tools and platforms to enhance organisation-wide data literacy.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need demonstrated experience in data science techniques, data manipulation, analysis and working with large databases. previous experience working in a consulting environment across various clients and industry would be adventageous.
You should also possess a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, the capability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to reach consensus on solutions that align with business requirements. Self starter, ability to work independently, adaptability to address challenges and adept problem-solving skills.
Skills you will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
- Proficiency in working with programming languages and statistical packages such as SQL, R, Python and GIS
- Strong knowledge of Power BI and Excel, Pivot tables for data visualisation and validation.
- Demonstrated experience working in a Data Analyst or in spatial GIS analysis role
- Strong proficiency in Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse).
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing maintainable solutions and use of geospatial analysis tools
- Understanding or hands on experience with cadastral survey concepts would be highly desirable as would exposure to CAD toolsets.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating impact, developing presentations and presentation of solutions to enable understanding with the audience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills which ensure an ability to produce work of a high standard and in a concise, easy to follow format
