The way we see it, every Alcoan is a work-shaper, team-shaper, idea-shaper, world-shaper.About the Role:This position will be offered on a Monday to Friday roster, working at the WA Mining Hub, Booragoon or the Bindjareb Office – depending on which location suits you best, we can also offer flexibility to work remotely (1 – 2 days per week)The primary role of the Spatial Data Analyst is to manage the Spatial Data generated by Alcoa’s WA operations and other external sources. They must be able to validate, process, update, and reconcile incoming and outgoing Spatial Data and ensure statutory compliance of Spatial Data and systems. They will also support a wide range of users to access and manage this data.Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Spatial Data Analyst will be responsible for the management and control of a huge array of Spatial Data that covers over 7000km2 area of Alcoa’s WA mining lease. This may include:Using the current GIS requests systems, interrogate and triage support requests appropriately.Continuously looking for any potential improvement opportunities that may benefit the customer and/or the GIS team.Continuously assessing Spatial Data workflows against the latest technology to make sure that they are the most appropriate.With multiple stakeholder inputs and statutory obligations, it is imperative that all related data is accessible and accurate. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
