The Opportunity
This is a rare and almost unheard-of initial length contract to 30/6/26
This is a newly created role for you to join this rapidly growing data team who responsible for the data analysis and reporting in addition to the performance framework.
I placed the current EL2 4 years ago. They are supportive, easy going and also on the data tools themselves. They have a strong knowledge of the data and datasets to help get you up to speed about where things are and the nuances of it.
- This team has been well funded team to improve its data capability
- Small person agency ~120 with minimal red tape to get stuff done
- Long term initial contract 30/6/26 with potential extension(s)
- Once you are established, they are quite flexible with WFH (up to 3-4 days at home). However, you will still need to be based in Canberra
The major part of your role will be to create visualisations and dashboards that present findings in a clear, intuitive manner. Previously these were done in Power BI, however the organisation has chosen CRM Analytics moving forward.
- You will undertake analysis to identify trends, patterns and anomalies in the data
- Common questions internal and external parties may ask are you may be asked “ How many projects or how much $ have we committed/spent in electorate 1234?
- You will also identify new ways of doing analysis extraction that are more efficient or automatic
This role will suit you if you enjoy being part of a team who works collaboratively together. You are more likely to be slightly…or not so slightly introverted in nature where you can do your best work by yourself. You enjoy roles that analysing and interpreting trends of patterns in complex data sets.
You also get satisfaction when you improve processes and procedures to make the analysis and extraction easier and more accurate for everyone both now and in the future.
You are passionate and experienced in designing and building dashboards with intermediate/ advanced skills in one or more than of the following Power BI, Tableau, QLIK and/or R-Shiny and with a desire to upskill in CRM Analytics.
Bonus points if you can extract, clean/wrangle using SQL or Python. In this role you’ll getting the data from the CRM, grants management and financial management systems.
Salary / Rate
- This role aligns to an APS 6 level and is being offered as a labour hire contract asap – 30/6/26 with potential extension (s)
- The rate range is $60 - $70 per hour + 11% super
