Transport Assets' purpose is to maximise the value of the Victorian transport system by driving an integrated, whole-of-life asset management approach to the state's assets across the transport portfolio.
About the opportunity
The Data Analyst is a position that sits within Asset Information Integrity & Analytics in the Asset Intelligence Branch of Transport Assets. The role supports the analysis of road asset data and information deliverables within road asset data collection projects over road asset inventory collection and condition assessment; as well as the data migration of the DTP asset information requirements and implementation.
The role is responsible in the establishment and execution of key data validation processes and documentation associated to road asset data collection projects; conduct and coordinate the data validation assesment and refinement activities with internal and external stakeholders; project support in meeting and project documentation.
The role involves in driving continuous improvement for road asset data hierarchy; data standard attributes, collection and validation requirements and processes within DTP to enable an evidence-based decision-making and reporting throughout the asset lifecycle.
Position Outcomes
- Road Asset Inventory and Condition Knowledge - The incumbent provides asset data and information expertise in road asset data inventory and condition assessment and how it relates to maintenance and renewal planning and asset investment management. The incumbent provides on-going analysis and reporting of road asset data and information, with on-going improvement initiaitves.
- Road Asset Information Management – The incumbent provides road asset data and information specialist advice and input into the development and maintenance of road asset data repository, asset condition information requirements and processes.
- Asset Data Quality Monitoring – The incumbent has provided specialist advice and analyses on the collected road asset data quality, promoting continuous improvements of asset condition data. Asset modelling and investment planning activities are supported by the continous monitoring and improvement of quality and quantity of asset data.
- Stakeholder Engagement - The incumbent has established relationships, communication and collaboration with transport operators and consultants to facilitate access, collection, analysis and verification on asset inventory and condition data and information. Delivery of presentations and data reporting to project stakeholders.
- Asset Condition Assessment Project – The incumbent will be key information and data analysts within Road Asset Data Uplift Program. The road assets data collection and validation are on track to deliver towards expected quality and transitioned into business-as-usual practice.
Mandatory
- Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, statistics, engineering, information systems or equivalent
- Experience in managing road assets (road pavement, structure, electronic, roadside and drainage) and road asset data
- Experience in managing geospatial data (Shapefile, GeoJSON, WKT, KML, KMZ) and products (Ersi)
- Experience developing in BI tools (Power BI)
- Experience in managing artificial intelligence (A.I.) data collection and validation
- Experience in managing minor culvert data collection and validation
- Experience in managing content distribution and standards in BI tools
