About the Role The Business Intelligence team plays a critical role in safeguarding Victorian communities from fire by transforming data into actionable insights. As a Data Analyst, you'll be tasked with gathering, analysing, and presenting data concerning fire and non-fire incidents, utilising both deterministic and probabilistic approaches. The Business Intelligence team plays a critical role in safeguarding Victorian communities from fire by transforming data into actionable insights. As a Data Analyst in the team, you will be tasked with a range of spatial analysis and data visualization of spatial and non-spatial data utilising a range of approaches. Whether it's through risk management, data visualisation, or topographical mapping, your work will empower decision-makers with accurate and meaningful information. Your understanding and application of various spatial and data methodologies, techniques and standards will ensure that our data-driven initiatives meet the needs of both internal stakeholders at CFA and external agencies. Key responsibilities of the role will see you provide spatial product and technical advice, support to key projects with risk management, topographical mapping, and data collection methods.Experience with the ESRI suite of products, including ArcGIS Pro, use of spatial data sets and analysis, and risk assessment is essential. Qualification and experience in the methods, techniques and tools for trusted data analyses.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities through the lifecycle of projects and service delivery requests.
Proven experience using business intelligence software to analyse and visualise data to support effective decision making.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with focus on delivering accurate advice and information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to take complex information, gather insights, and present it to a range of audiences in an easy to understand way
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and liaise and consult with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
