Based in our Architecture Practice you will be responsible for data solutions both in-cloud, on-premise, and hybrid cloud (AWS & GCP). You'll be part of pioneering cloud services as the bank and growing our capability. It's an exciting role as it will offer you diversity of work with involvement in multiple transformation projects across the bank such as customer facing platforms to regulatory reporting.
You'll build strong relationships across the architecture practice, and with the teams that are developing new data solutions from concept through to production. You'll join a team who pride themselves on providing first class services who do this through collaboration and supporting one another and have clarity of vision and good sense of direction.

As a Data Architect you'll get to...
- Provide consulting advice and review and perform impact assessment of initiatives/projects on the bank's data solutions.
- Play a lead role in defining and governing enterprise data models
- Contribute specialist Data architecture knowledge to inform strategy and plans.
- Produce roadmaps and plans for establishment of new data platform technologies.
- Evaluate and document options for data technology selection.
- Design and develop Data solutions to support purpose-built data stores such as; analytic stores, data lakes, relational and transactional data stores, OLAP warehousing, unstructured data stores and event data stores.
- Design highly scalable and elastic solutions in support of developing solutions for data acquisition, data storage, data recovery, data security, data resilience and data availability.
- Contribute to architectural activities on initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to convert requirements into key architectural decisions and solution architecture documentation.
About you
- You'll have strong experience with multiple data modelling techniques and understand the pros and cons of each. Experience with Data Vault modelling is essential.
- You'll have experience with data modelling and solutioning to deliver large complex solutions with the ability to influence stakeholders and decision making.
- You'll have a background with a complex data modelling and is able to provide architecture solutions. You'll have excellent knowledge of data warehousing and reporting.
- Know-how of cloud platform solutions and the related infrastructure and engineering pipelines. Practical experience with big data solutions in at least one major cloud environment such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience with on-prem and cloud-based Data Warehouse solutions.
- Experience with technologies such as: Spark, Kafka, MongoDB (or other NoSQL stores).
- Experience with deployment of data workloads using CI/CD tooling (ideally Gitlab, Terraform and Ansible).
