MIDDAY ON WEDNESDAY, 8 MAY 2024Job DescriptionThe Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions has committed to a partnership with Landgate to deliver a use case as part of the first phase of implementation of the Spatial WA program. Spatial WA is a five-year program to deliver a whole of government Advanced Spatial Digital Twin for the State. It will enable agencies to access, share and use spatial and non-spatial data (up to 4D) with advanced capabilities for visualisation, analytics, predictive modelling, and digital workflows, to improve collaboration and decision making across government.This use case has two defined priorities to demonstrate benefits to WA Government: * Utilise a 4D tenure cadastre (Next Generation Spatial Cadastre or NGSC) to support alignment of multiple administrative boundary datasets, minimising duplication and providing current and trusted data.

  • Better utilise coordinated administrative boundary information to support investment analysis of what rights, restrictions and responsibilities exist for a location.
The program is complex and will be delivered in a dynamic and fast paced project environment, working with key agencies across the sector to deliver the outcomes needed for the State.More details on the program can be found here:Under general direction, the Data Coordinator, Spatial WA:
  • provides complex specialist advice in support of realising the desired use case outcomes to key internal and external stakeholders; and provides expertise in migrating, maintaining and accessing administrative boundary data within NGSC; and contributes to the development of specialist technology; and
  • consults on the use case outcomes across multiple government agencies but particularly DBCA to develop standards, procedures and best practice guidelines to support the management of Spatial WA data. The role is required to consult, understand and influence how spatial and related non-spatial data is managed within DBCA and drive the standardisation of data governance practices across DBCA supporting Spatial WA.
Selection CriteriaApplicants should address the following three (3) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total. * Working experience in geospatial data governance and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing data management practices, working with geospatial data, formats and services supporting the delivery of geospatial solutions.
  • Demonstrated strong presentation and communication skills to independently work with stakeholders and explore complex challenges while designing solutions to these challenges.
