Our client, a leading organisation in the field of data management and analytics, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Your new role
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines to automate data ingestion from external sources. Working closely with data providers, you will implement routine data acquisition, create metadata from ingested data collections, and integrate systems into data products. Additionally, you will collaborate with a team of Data, Software, and Cloud Engineers to design, deliver, and maintain system components across various technologies, including AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Flux, Argo Workflows, Python, R, and more.
What you'll need to succeed
- A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- At least 3 years of experience creating and implementing ETL/ELT data workflows using Argo Workflows or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in git/GitHub versioning control applications.
- Familiarity with AWS services and products.
- Experience working in an agile framework.
- The ability to manage large volumes of tabular, vector, and raster data.
- Knowledge of ARCO formats: Zarr, geoParquet.
Familiarity with R and Python geospatial data specific packages
