about the role
Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join the Data and Insights team. Reporting to the Sub Chapter Head, this permanent role will be based in Chevron's new building at One The Esplanade.
We are currently looking for a Data Engineer who can identify, acquire, cleanse & prepare, store data, and develop data products aligned with defined architecture patterns. Leverage data, software engineering, and data science techniques to create business value through data accessibility. Includes data ingestion, data preparation and analytics processing.
Additionally, the Data Engineer will be responsible for:
Enabling data scientists, making data available for advanced analytics models, and contributing to models.
Work with Machine Learning Engineer to scale and deploy solutions / models, as well as documentation, training, and integration.
Keeping abreast of and aligning with emerging technologies such as generative AI

To be considered for this role, applicants should have demonstrated knowledge and experience in:
computer science and data /software engineering fundamentals, including APIs.
data transformation and orchestration tools such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, ADF, Databricks, Synapse
data product development and data modeling, big data computing, and cost optimization
data classification, including legal, sensitive, or confidential information.
collaborate within agile frameworks and seeking diverse perspectives from others.
establish trusted working relationships with peers and stakeholders in global teams and across time zones.
