Data Warehouse, SQL, ETL pipelines, greenfield role with scope to build DW to deliver reliable data, growth environment
Our client is a large privately owned retail automotive organisation, with a turnover in excess of $3B and some 2,500 people across 130 sites nationally. Led by a highly commercial executive team their reputation and deep industry knowledge continues to drive successful expansion and growth activity.As the Data Engineer this greenfield role is an opportunity working ground up. You’ll build a central common Data Warehouse with the capability to produce comprehensive business reporting that drives key decision making. Your deep understanding of relational databases, will allow you to gather, analyse and interpret data from various sources. You’ll work in collaboration with key stakeholders at a cross functional level, enabling the delivery of accurate and reliable data.
Day to day you’ll:
- Work with Data Services teams to understand reporting needs
- Design, implement and support the DW and Reporting environment
- Develop, implement and maintain ETL pipelines and secure data transfer
- Set up processes to monitor data quality and integrity
- Optimise processes including data cleansing and validation activities
- Develop requirements for data onboarding and modelling
- Create documentation for data storage and integration solutions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policy
- Develop business continuity processes for all data assets
- Lead on design and testing of data architecture artefacts
- Design, develop and maintain reports and dashboards in SSRS, PowerBi and Excel
- Drive continuous improvement including task automation
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related
- Deep level SQL experience writing queries to extract and manipulate data.
- SQL database management and operation experience
- Experience with ETL and modelling processes
- Deep level Data Engineering skills specialising in data warehousing, data pipelines
- Good knowledge of SSIS and some SSRS
- Skills in working with large, complex databases and in data migration projects
- Experience with PowerBi dashboard reporting
