About the role
As our Data Engineer you will design, build and optimise data pipelines, enabling business users to make informed business decisions based on high-quality data. From data extraction and transformation to integration and modelling, you will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver tailored solutions that meet business objectives and drive growth by;
- Building, designing, coding, testing and deploying data pipeline in SQL to ensure that data is delivered in a timely manner
- Supporting the analytics process, helping to design, construct and build analytical datasets, which includes exploring and visualising large sets of data
- Identify, track, and remediate data quality issues as well as perform exception handling across a broad variety of datasets.
- Improve the quality, reliability, security, of systems and data
- Build reusable data products and patterns that unlock value stored in our data
- Working with business stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate technical options, report on progress and contribute ideas.
- Assist in developing tools/processes to enable our business to self-serve
The traits that will help you succeed:
You will bring your strong inter-personal and relationship management skills, time management and organisational skills;
- Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
- Minimum 2 years in a similar role
- Strong SQL coding skills
- Experience with data modelling and complex ETL/ELT solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Data Factory would be beneficial
- Strong understanding of BI data structures (Power BI)
- Experience building data profiling, data cleansing and Data Engineering frameworks.
- Ability to analyse data and source systems to identify root cause and ability on problem solving
