Your new role
As the Data Engineer, you will be working as part of a team that aims to integrate multiple source systems to enable better business reporting and analytics.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience with SQL and Teradata SQL
- An understanding of databases, data latency, data and storage formats, persistence needs, data volatility, business rules and aggregations, and other Data Engineering considerations.
- The ability to undertake the back-end development of the Department's Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse, including data transformation and automation of data flow jobs that produce data products.
- The ability to build and maintain data definition descriptors & database structures, such as tables, views, indexes, and constraints.
- Quality assure the transformation and flow process and undertake data quality checks.
- Maintain reference data, and business specific datasets by automating ETL jobs.
- Undertake necessary EDW administration activities, such as deployments, production issues, capacity limits, performance tuning, logging & monitoring, scheduling of jobs, and the setup of new environments.
- You must be an Australian citizen and will possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a Baseline level personnel security clearance.
