Data Entry Officer
Hours: Part-time - 3 days a week
Location: Newcastle
Rate: $35 - 40 an hour plus Super pending experience
Contract: 12 months

Hays has partnered with a local tertiary educator based in Newcastle, with multiple sites across NSW. The organisation is a global leader, ranked amongst the top tertiary educators worldwide.
We are seeking a Data Entry Officer with experience in payroll to join their established and supportive team.
Your new role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:- General Data Entry, administration and some payroll functions.
- Setup and maintain employees in the HRIS system, understanding different types of contracts with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Provide support and advice to the Remuneration and Benefits Team, particularly in relation to HRIS matters.
- Contribute to HR business improvement and projects, working collaboratively with Financial Services and Human Resource Services staff.
- Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, particularly utilising the HRIS and associated systems.
- Comply with the organisation's obligations under relevant legislation including Industrial Awards, Agreements, and Audit Acts.
- Assist with resolving employee enquiries relating to their pay and entitlements, particularly in the area of HRIS Data Entry.
- Monitor and action Data Entry quality reports within agreed timelines with Team Leader.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in Data Entry, payroll or in a similar transferable role (essential).
- Previous experience in a higher or tertiary education (highly desirable).
- Excellent MS Office knowledge and English proficiency.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
- Tech-savvy and adaptable, able to pick up new programs quickly.
- Exemplary planning and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise daily workload.
- High level verbal and written communications skills.
- Discretion with personal and confidential information.
