We're looking for an experienced Data Governance Manager to join a Data Management team and champion Data Privacy as a core foundation of our client's data strategy. You'll play a critical role in ensuring responsible data usage across the organisation, from establishing robust governance frameworks to collaborating with senior stakeholders on mitigating data risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Privacy Expertise:
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive Data Privacy policies and procedures to safeguard individual rights and comply with evolving regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
- Conduct Data Privacy impact assessments and manage data breach response protocols.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure strong data security controls are in place.
- Data Governance Management:
- Support adherence to Data Governance principles, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust Data Governance framework aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Partner with business units to understand data needs and implement Data Governance practices that enable responsible data sharing and utilisation.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the enterprise to advocate for Data Privacy and governance as core values.
- Communicate effectively with data councils and leadership teams to ensure clear understanding of data risks and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and deliver training programs to improve data literacy and compliance across the organization.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Governance and/or Data Privacy roles.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing Data Privacy policies and procedures.
- Deep understanding of relevant Data Privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in data analysis and modelling.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Previous financial services experience highly regarded.
- Knowledge of BCBS 239 or CPG 235 is a significant advantage.
