Are you ready to take on a challenging role in the fast evolving energy sector?
In this senior role you will be managing stakeholders at a range of levels to establish and embed a Data Governance framework, providing leadership in Data Governance across the business. You will help the organisation's leadership navigate the difficulty involved in implementing enterprise Data Governance in a complex organisation for the first time.
Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation of a Data Governance Framework and support the establishment of an enterprise data office.
Develop policies, standards, and procedures for the Data Governance Framework, obtaining endorsement from stakeholders.
Assist in developing roles and responsibilities for the enterprise data office, creating training materials for data stewards, custodians, and owners.
Understand data strategy, technology landscape, and data usage to enhance data risk and data quality frameworks.
Collaborate with peers to embed data management concepts into major transformation programs, ensuring high-quality data, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Conduct capability, maturity, and benchmarking assessments for data management practices.
Provide thought leadership on effective data management in on-premises and cloud environments.
Design and implement data remediation programs to enhance metadata, data lineage, data quality controls, reference data, and master data.
Build strong working relationships with data stakeholders across the enterprise.
Support team members through peer reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical training.
Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in Data Governance.
Requirements:
Proven interpersonal skills and experience in negotiation, influencing, and providing strategic advice.
Experience defining Data Governance, data management, and data quality frameworks in a complex enterprise environment.
Knowledge of industry-standard frameworks (DCAM, DAMA) and data privacy legislations (Australian Privacy Act 1988, GDPR).
Experience with Data Governance and management toolsets (Informatica, Talend, SAP Information Steward, etc).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
