This is a hybrid position giving you the flexibility to work from home and any of our national offices.

Job Description

The Role
As a Data Governance Manager, you will ensure data accuracy, availability, usability, and security across the organisation. You will oversee Data Governance, quality assurance, risk and compliance, and best practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity. Your role includes conducting ongoing gap analyses, embedding Data Governance frameworks, establishing governance policies for data lifecycle management and implementing initiatives like data catalogues and creating data asset inventories.

In the role you will

  • Implement and maintain a data catalogue and data asset register for enhanced availability and utilisation of data.
  • Implement data lineage policies and processes to build transparency and trust in data.
  • Define and enforce data standards, promoting best practices for embedding Data Governance policies in data lifecycle management.
  • Develop and maintain governance policies around metadata models and data taxonomy.
  • Collaborate with BI and Enterprise information architecture teams to develop and maintain an enterprise data architecture that is aligned with the organisation's strategy.
  • Monitor data lifecycle from acquisition to disposal, ensuring proper handling and retention.
  • Set up dashboards to report on Data Governance performance and track improvements.
  • Champion data reliability, security, and accuracy to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Promote a positive risk culture and the value of risk management to employees.
Desired Skills and Experience

About you

You will be a perfect fit for our team if you possess strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. With excellent written communication abilities, especially in policy drafting, you'll play a crucial role in our Data Governance initiatives. Your experience in implementing and maintaining Data Governance activities, coupled with your proficiency in risk identification and control implementation, will be invaluable. Additionally, your ability to collaborate with stakeholders and your strategic business acumen make you an ideal candidate for this role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in database management, data modeling, and Data Governance.
  • Experience of working with Data Governance tools like data profiling, data cleansing, data lineage etc.
  • Strong analytical skills, written communication, and experience in policy implementation.
  • Proficiency in database management systems, Master data management and metadata management.
