Eligibility: Open to EveryoneWorking in the South Australian Parliament Research LibraryLocated in Parliament House on North Terrace, the functions of the Parliament Research Library are to:
- provide effective, efficient, and professional research and library services to Members of Parliament and their staff; and
- liaise with staff within the Parliament, with government and its agencies, other libraries, external groups, and the broader research community in the provision of these services so that Members are able to effectively discharge their parliamentary duties.
- Ensure the development, maintenance and relevance of the Library’s data management systems to support both client access to the Library’s digital records, collection of monographs and periodicals, media content, and related Library data entry requirements;
- Continue existing Library data migration project works of migrating data from legacy Library systems (primarily DBTExt Works) to SharePoint Online or other platforms where required by the Library;
- Assess, recommend and assist with the implementation of new Library management systems where appropriate;
- Ensure, either directly or in a support role, that ensure new systems are effectively deployed on existing Library platforms;
- Liaise with the Parliament Network Support Group and external vendors where required;
- Contribute to the development of Library policy, standards and procedures where relevant to this role;
- Participate in the identification, planning and implementation of innovative services where relevant to this role.
- Eligible for membership of The Australian Library and Information Association.
- Experience in InMagic products (DBText Works).
- Experience in using Library Management Systems to input and retain Library records.
- Experience in SharePoint Online.
- Web page design.
- Client-service delivery experience.
