You will be employed by the Health System Support Group (a unit of the Public Health System Support Division of the Health Administration Corporation) and working within the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence, located in St Leonards. About the Role
The primary role of this position is to ensure the prompt delivery of linked data to our clients. The individual in this role will be tasked with enhancing our existing data linkage processes. This will improve the availability, accuracy, and efficiency of accessing linked data and related information within the Master Linkage Key (MLK). Furthermore, the incumbent will contribute to the redesign of the MLK architecture to better cater to both current and future business requirements.

Selection Criteria
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications: Possess relevant tertiary qualifications with a demonstrated experience in working with data across various industries such as health, retail, and government.
- Efficient Data Processing and Analysis: Capable of processing, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets efficiently. Experience in data pipeline development, algorithm development and testing, and working with demographic data is preferred.
- Proficiency in Data Management Systems and Tools: Demonstrate proficiency in using modern data management systems and software tools, including hand-coded SQL scripting and other programming/scripting tools like Python/R, etc.
- Specialization in Data Linkage: Specialize in record linkage, de-duplication, entity resolution, and probabilistic record matching. Experience in machine learning/AI and practical data-modelling in this domain is highly desirable.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills, active listening, interpersonal and supervision abilities. Capable of effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical personnel within and outside our business unit.
- High-Level Analytical Thinking Skills: Possess high-level conceptual, evaluation, and analytical thinking skills. Capable of defining problems, analyzing requirements, understanding population health information, and identifying, addressing, and managing data quality issues.
- Experience in Team Collaboration: Have experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on sensitive issues to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills for managing competing issues and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
