- To collect, manage and analyse data with the purpose of improving outcomes for paediatric cardiac patients managed in the PICU through quality improvement and Research activities.
- The position sits across Cardiac Services and PICU with the focus on data from cardiac patients undergoing care in the PICU. The cardiac and Intensive Care data, Quality and Research Manager will utilise existing cardiac and PICU data registries and platforms to facilitate benchmarking, quality improvement and Research.
- The position will facilitate the process of case review to enhance care pathways for cardiac patients in the PICU.
- The candidate will have the ability to organise data for analysis and ideally conduct analysis as required in order to progress quality improvement and Research projects for cardiac patients in the PICU.
- Possess an undergraduate degree in health with significant recent clinical experience in a health care setting or equivalent work experience in complex health care settings.
- Working knowledge of the current principles of quality improvement and clinical governance in the context of health care with demonstrated experience in effectively leading successful quality improvement projects
- Demonstrated high level communication skills in interacting effectively with clinical staff, senior managers and external stakeholders and effective written communication skills, including preparation of high quality reports, correspondence and presentations
- Understanding of clinical processes and the importance of data integrity and its relation to patient care and commitment to professional development.
- Demonstrated planning, time management and organisational skills particularly in the area of managing multiple tasks and multidisciplinary issues to meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines in an environment of minimal supervision
- Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and how it relates to the ethical conduct of clinical research
- Demonstrated skills relevant to analysis of large data-sets including knowledge of statistical analysis methods
- Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft and other PC-based software (databases, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation).
