Your new company
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Professional who is accustomed to working remotely and communicating across virtual teams for an initial 3-month contract with a large energy company based in Australia.
Your new role
In this role, you will be delivering sophisticated modelling and statistical analysis through a data science lens. You will utilise a variety of tools, data mining techniques, algorithms, and machine learning principles to derive meaningful insights from data.
Closely collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will define data requirements, develop and implement predictive models to forecast future scenarios and potential implications, as well as deliver actionable insights and recommendations which will significantly influence strategic business decisions.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proficiency in building data pipelines, models and visualisations using a variety of tools
- Strong experience with PySpark, SQL scripts, and Databricks
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms and predictive modelling techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within a short time frame
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer or Data Platform specialist, preferably within the energy or utilities industries
