Database Administrator

Rubix Solutions is seeking experienced NV1 cleared Database Administrators to join a Technical Support Team established on behalf of a leading defence consultancy in Adelaide. The successful candidates will play a critical role in developing, configuring, and maintaining database systems, with expertise in a variety of DBMS platforms. This role requires on-site presence starting in July 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and configure tools to enable automation of database administration tasks, enhancing efficiency and reliability of database operations.
• Monitor performance statistics of database systems and create reports to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Utilize expertise in a variety of DBMS platforms, including Microsoft SQL/Express, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, to support diverse database environments.
• Identify and investigate complex problems and issues within database systems, recommending and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Perform routine configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of database and related products to ensure system stability and security.
• Provide support for Microsoft BackOffice products and/or Red Hat Linux, leveraging additional expertise to enhance database operations where applicable.

Requirements:

• NV1 security clearance or higher.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in developing and configuring automation tools for database administration tasks.
• Strong proficiency in a variety of DBMS platforms, including Microsoft SQL/Express, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot complex database issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Experience performing routine configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of database and related products.
• Desirable experience with Microsoft BackOffice products and/or Red Hat Linux, enhancing versatility in supporting diverse database environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
