The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an Oracle and/or PostgreSQL Consultant with strong DBA skills to work on leading edge projects for our high profile clients. You will be working closely alongside our Senior Consultants who have a wide range of industry and technical knowledge & expertise.

You will bring to the role:
Technical Competencies
Oracle
- Oracle database administration in a large Production environment
- Support of Mission Critical databases
- Knowledge of high availability processes – RMAN, DataGuard & RAC
- System architecture, design and performance
- Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning
- Database patching
- Perform Database Health checks
- Perform Database Backups and Recovery using RMAN
- Database upgrades
- Ability to write PL/SQL and SQL
PostgreSQL
- Experience in support and maintenance of daily operations to service levels and project based PostgreSQL databases. Including full and differential backups, capacity planning, log shipping, reporting and analysis services
- Experience in setting up database clustering and active passive failover configuration
- Experience in maintaining security of PostgreSQL databases
- Perform onsite and remote maintenance and troubleshooting
- Managing backup and DR for all database servers
- Implementing new database and associated objects
- DR and High availability experience
- Performance Tuning of Applications
- Capacity to produce high level technical documentations and results
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience working in database administration (at least 5+ years)
- A Passion for Data and Database Technology
- Proactive and takes initiative
- A strong customer focus and people skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Good organisational skills
- Consultancy mindset and ability
- Ability to work on a range of client projects
- Tertiary qualification in IT or similar discipline (Not mandatory but highly advantageous)
