About the role
The Langham, Melbourne is currently looking for a Day Spa Manager, Chuan Spa to join their team.
You will have the opportunity to lead the Chuan Spa team which consists of approximately 30 colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity for you to further grow your leadership skill set.
Reporting into the Hotel Manager this position is an integral part of a high performing hotel team, and a key contributor to the hotel's ongoing success.
Chuan Spa is on a mission to spread the word worldwide on health, well-being and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Your responsibilities will include:
Management of daily operations
- Oversee reception, therapists and spa operation and associated staff.
- Liaise with all relevant hotel departments on a daily basis to ensure communication of key issues, initiatives and challenges.
- Benchmark industry best practice revenues and expense control.
- Implement financial targets for each area within Chuan Spa.
- Strategies to be developed with respective staff and to be documented and reviewed on a monthly basis
- Preparation of annual budgets in accordance with hotel policy guidelines.
- Preparation of rolling 90 day forecast.
- Review of daily and monthly results against forecast.
- Monthly stock-take in line with hotel policy guidelines to accurately analyse stock consumption and forecast future purchase.
- Review stock levels, levels of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas to ensure that the operation is performing to optimum levels of service and cost control.
- Perform Massage and Reception duties as and when required.
Staff schedule
- Monthly schedule prepared in advance for all staff areas including full time, part time and contracted employees to ensure that zero based staffing is achieved.
Maintenance
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules with Engineering and external contractors.
Stock take and purchasing
- Monthly stock-take in line with hotel policy guidelines to accurately analyse stock consumption and forecast future purchase.
Marketing and Promotions
- In conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Marketing department ensure Chuan Spa Melbourne continues to maintain relevant and appealing Spa treatments and offerings whilst remaining one of Australia premium hotel spa offerings.
PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT
Standard Operating Procedures and Guest Satisfaction
- Review hotel Guest Satisfaction scores and implements action plans to ensure targets are attained.
Previous experience in a similar role is desired. Flexibility with various shifts is required.
