Job description

The Defect Management and Predictive Engineer is a technical role within the Defect Management and Predictive team in Engineering Operations Centre. The role supports management of repeat and preventive defects and is responsible for the management of the predictive defects with an emphasis on the use and development of data analytics. The role will involve the development of digital solutions and collaboration with stakeholders to influence key fleet performance indicators by increasing the efficiency of critical and PredictiveDefect Management.

You’ll have:

  • Professional qualification in Engineering, preferably Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Avionics, Electrical or equivalent. Software coding (Python, SQL), data analytics or data science skills are highly desirable.

  • Strong demonstrated skills in problem solving and analytical thinking, both individually and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of data analytics platform or database management, knowledge of GE EMS, Palantir or Skywise platform is preferable.

  • Ability to use software tools to analyse and process large amounts of information.

  • Knowledge of Airbus or Boeing Aircraft Systems is desirable.

  • Understanding of aircraft defect or predictive maintenance and their impact on aircraft On-Time Performance, availability or maintenance cost is desirable.

  • Ability to engage with team-members to produce safe, compliant and desirable outcome, strong team focused approach.

  • Excellent communication and relationship skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to proactively finding solutions to problems.
